Quilt fragments, unmade quilt squares, discarded embroidered household linens and other domestic textile objects are laminated and stitched onto canvas in the textile collages.

The image central to these pieces relates to the Tree of Life. It represents the journey of the soul with its roots in the earth and its branches reaching to the heavens. This image can be found in spiritual practices in cultures around the world and throughout time.An exploration of pattern is the focus of this work.

Materials relating to domestic textiles— quilt patches, embroidered doilies, drapery, dryer lint and dressmakers’ patterns are laminated onto fabric in traditional patchwork patterns.
